At Oak & Cedar Counselling Services, I strive to provide a safe, caring and relaxed environment that is free from judgement or discrimination. Not only do I want you to feel seen and understood during your session, but my hope is to always provide a therapy environment that is personable, patient, compassionate and deeply respectful of your dignity, autonomy and inherent worth.
As a therapist, I work hard to ensure you are provided with evidence-based support that encourages and empowers you in reaching your wellness goals, at a pace determined by you. I value a strength-based approach, which focuses on the skills, strengths and positive attributes that exist inherently within you, and using that as the foundation for building and creating the changes you wish to see.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I also respect and acknowledge the mind-body connections and use holistic, somatic approaches to encourage whole person support.
As a therapist, I am trained and certified in many therapuetic approaches. The following are some modalities that I often use in my practice, and I look forward to collaborating with you to determine which approach will work best for your goals and needs.
